917 Sun is the Students with Unique Needs (SUN) program operated by Intermediate School District 917 that provides specialized special-education services and individualized instruction for students from kindergarten through age 22 who require a high level of support.
917 Sun (Students with Unique Needs) delivers individualized special education programming for students who require intensive supports. Instruction covers academics, functional skills, social skills and transition planning for students up to age 22.

Instruction is provided in small, highly structured settings with high staff-to-student ratios. Meal service follows the district nutrition program and participates in the Minnesota Free School Meals program. Transportation to program sites is coordinated with member districts.
