Overview

The Oak Park location provides care for children from infancy through school age. The center's offerings include infant and toddler care, a full-day preschool program with part-time options, and before-and-after school care plus summer programming for older children.

Curriculum and learning

The program uses The Creative Curriculum® alongside the Illinois Early Childhood Learning Standards. The curriculum addresses cognitive, physical, language and literacy, and social–emotional development. Weekly Spanish lessons are included beginning with preschool-aged programming.

Families, meals and operations

Meals: a breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided to children in care.
Family engagement: communication includes classroom and director newsletters, parent/teacher conferences three times per year, twice-yearly assessment reports, parent education workshops and a volunteer parent advisory committee.
Administration: the center uses the Brightwheel app for family communication and payments, maintains open enrollment when positions are available, and operates Monday–Friday during daytime hours.
Licensing and staff: the location is licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. Reported classroom staff-to-child ratios are 1:4 for infants, 1:5 for toddlers, 1:8 for two-year-olds, 1:9 for preschoolers and 1:12 for school-age children; staff hold First Aid and CPR certifications for their age groups.
