Astec Charter Ms

Overview

ASTEC Middle School serves grades 6 through 8 as part of ASTEC Charter Schools, a free public charter school system in Oklahoma City. Instruction is provided within the system's state-approved curriculum with an emphasis on science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.).

Academics

Core instruction in English, mathematics, science, and social studies organized by grade level (6th–8th).
S.T.E.A.M. integration across the curriculum and access to technology resources for students.
Grade-level electives for secondary students (7th & 8th), along with courses in computer technology, fine arts, and physical education.

Athletics offered across the ASTEC program include basketball, soccer, rowing, golf, volleyball and eSports; facilities referenced by the system include a regulation-size soccer field and courts for futsal and volleyball.
On-site maker resources and technology supports are highlighted systemwide, including a FabLab maker space with 3D printers and computers for students; the system also maintains meal programs and family resources such as a food pantry and uniform closet.
