Avance HISD–School Based Family Program is part of AVANCE San Antonio and offers two-generation early childhood and family-support services, including Head Start/Early Head Start and parent-child education for families with young children.
Avance HISD–School Based Family Program operates within the AVANCE San Antonio network to provide early learning and family-development services for children and caregivers. Services are delivered through both center-based and home-based models for young children and their families.
The program uses AVANCE’s strengths-based, two-generation model that combines parent education with early childhood learning. The Parent-Child Education Program (PCEP) is offered as a nine-month parenting course for families with children ages 0–4. AVANCE San Antonio also provides family supports that include workforce-readiness and college-navigation initiatives.
