Big Future Preschool

Overview

Big Future Preschool is a private independent early childhood program that follows California Preschool Learning Foundation standards and coordinates curriculum with local kindergarten instruction. The program combines child-initiated activities with intentional, teacher-directed lessons to support cognitive, social, emotional and physical development.

Curriculum and learning approach

Instruction is evidence-based and emphasizes reading, language and mathematics alongside arts and science. The centre uses a balance of free-choice activities and intentional teacher-directed instruction, and applies researched strategies intended to prepare children for the transition to elementary school.

Staff, assessment and family involvement

Staff meet federal guidelines, hold credits in Early Childhood Education, and have completed training and background clearances.
Instruction is delivered by certified teachers supervised by a leadership team that includes academic and physical education directors.
Progress is monitored and shared with families through conferences and ongoing assessment of literacy, writing and math skills as well as social and emotional development.
