Buttons and Bows is a long-established, not-for-profit preschool that provides classroom programs for two-, three- and four-year-old children. The school emphasizes age-appropriate activities and social interaction within a cooperative, family-involved setting.

Approach and curriculum

Programs and family involvement

Two-year-old classes: program goals include a positive first school experience, social interaction and early verbal communication; two teachers and a third support teacher are provided at the start of the year; potty training is not required.
Three-year-old classes: focus on independence, following directions, social skills, fine motor development through daily art projects and daily music; children must be potty trained for this class.
Four-year-old classes: emphasize kindergarten readiness socially and academically, with letter recognition, writing practice and continued art and music experiences.

The program also offers parent events and volunteer opportunities (examples include Mom’s Night, Dad’s Night, Morning with Santa and seasonal feasts) and a Lunch Club option to extend the day for three- and four-year-olds.
