Cal Poly Humboldt Children's Center offers campus-based child care and early education in support of Cal Poly Humboldt students, staff and faculty families. The program operates out of the Trinity Annex on campus and serves infants through preschool-aged children.
Hours during the academic year are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Schedules are created to meet individual family needs, with both full- and part-time options available; the center follows an annual calendar for closures.
The center is managed by a Center Director and Assistant Director and is supported by an Office Manager/Budget Analyst. Each classroom is coordinated by credentialed teachers and supported by supervising teachers. All teachers hold bachelor's degrees and have coursework and experience in early childhood education; university students are also employed as classroom assistants and receive training and supervision.
Enrollment priority is given first to student-parents, then to staff, and then to faculty. The center uses a sliding fee scale based on family size and gross monthly income and receives subsidy support from federal and Department of Education grants.
