Carolina Community Academy is an elementary program serving kindergarten through second-grade students and is housed within North Elementary School. The academy opened in August 2022 and pairs standards-based classroom instruction with social-emotional learning and wraparound student supports.

Kindergarten students who enroll at North Elementary are automatically enrolled in the Carolina Community Academy; after completing second grade at the academy, students transition back to North Elementary and continue in Person County Schools for grades 3–5 without additional paperwork.
Instruction centers on themes from the North Carolina Standards and includes a focus on social-emotional skills such as emotional regulation, friendship skills, and problem-solving. Teachers work alongside counselors and social workers who provide small-group and individual supports, and the program offers monthly enrichment experiences on the UNC–Chapel Hill campus.
Students and families accessing the academy receive wraparound services and support from full-time school professionals at North Elementary.
