Conte Elementary School Head Start

Overview

Conte Elementary School Head Start is part of the Conte Community School in Pittsfield. The school maintains a public calendar of events and provides access to school resources such as the school report card and community connection materials.

Governance and school councils

The school has two site-based committees: a Neighborhood Advisory Council (NAC) that represents parents/guardians and community members, and a School Council composed of the principal, parents, teachers and community members. Councils participate in site-based decision making, contribute to the development of the School Improvement Plan, engage in strategic planning, and have responsibilities related to budgeting and school operations. The NAC replaces a traditional PTO for the Conte school.

Meetings and calendar

Meeting dates and times for both the School Council and the Neighborhood Advisory Council are posted publicly. School Council meetings are held several times a year; neighborhood advisory meetings are scheduled every other month. Meetings are held in the Conte Community Room, and virtual attendance options are provided when available. The school also maintains a calendar of events for parents and the community.
