Overview

Copper Hills Elementary serves students from pre-kindergarten through sixth grade and includes on-campus preschool classrooms and related early childhood services. The school identifies a set of core character values known as the Miner Code and presents a mission and vision focused on academic and personal development.

Academic approach and staff development

Instructional practice at the site includes district-supported curricula and schoolwide initiatives such as Visible Learning. Recent staff development priorities listed for the site include implementation of PBIS, the 2nd Step social-emotional curriculum, TWIG Science, and English Learner supports. Physical education and regular classroom-based P.E. times are scheduled for all grade levels.

Facility and campus improvements have included expanded library and kitchen/dining areas, upgraded audiovisual systems, HVAC and lighting upgrades, added collaboration space, security camera installation, and accessibility (ADA) upgrades.
