Cornerstone Kidz

Overview

Cornerstone Kidz Preschool is a Christian early learning center established in October 2000. The school combines academic instruction with daily Bible lessons and a weekly children’s church, and is affiliated with Cornerstone Christian Center and the Assemblies of God.

Curriculum and approach

The program uses the Abeka curriculum and emphasizes phonics-based reading instruction alongside social-emotional and play-based learning. The school offers extracurriculars such as Music Man and Twinkle Toes Dance.

Special needs support

The school uses a Multi-Tiered Support System (MTSS) informed by Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS).
Tier 1 strategies are classroom-wide; Tier 2 strategies (for which parents are notified and permission is requested at enrollment) include sign language, visual schedules, sensory tools, and noise-cancelling headphones. The school does not use Tier 3 strategies.
Each classroom has a threshold limiting children with special needs to 25% of that classroom’s capacity; individual IFSP/IEP cases are reviewed prior to enrollment. The school accepts children with level 1 autism and may accept level 2 at its discretion; it does not accept level 3 or severe autism.

Meals and lunch policies

Families are asked to pack lunches that do not require refrigeration or reheating; ice packs and thermoses are recommended. The school requests that parents avoid sugary sweets and beverages; the school serves 100% juice and provides milk with lunch, while alternative milks must be supplied by parents if needed.
