Country Learning Center

Overview

Country Learning Center is a country-based preschool serving three- and four-year-old children. The program combines traditional early academics with hands-on activities on the school property, including garden and animal care. Classes are small, with a maximum of 10 students, and the school year runs August–May.

Approach and curriculum

The program emphasizes a traditional, screen-free approach to early learning with foundational academics and practical life skills. Daily indoor and outdoor learning, story sequencing, letter and number recognition, tracing, expressive art and play are part of classroom activities. Four-year-old classes include a weekly faith learning time.

Facilities, animals and outdoor learning

Participates in Farm to School activities, including a Harvest of the Month focus and garden-grown foods used for daily snacks.
On-site animals include chickens (egg collection and coop care), cattle, and goats; students participate in feeding and basic care tasks.
Playground features described on the site include a tire climbing tower, balance beam, trampoline, playhouse, water table, large magnetic boards, paint wall, ride-on toys and rubber mulch surfacing.
Facility notes: follows public school calendars, is DCFS licensed, and is equipped with building locks and cameras; professional cleaning is performed monthly.

Staff and enrollment

The lead teacher is described as holding a PreK–12 teaching license, a degree in speech pathology and a master’s in special education, with classroom experience. Classes are limited in size and the site notes use of a waitlist for future openings.
