Cozy Castle Learning Center

Overview

Cozy Castle Learning Center operates an early learning and daycare program at its Crete location, providing care for infants through pre-kindergarten and services for school-age children.

Curriculum and learning areas

The program uses a developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with Illinois standards. Instructional areas and learning goals listed for children include:

Programs and services

Infants: Care and early learning for the youngest children, with age-appropriate activities and routines.

Older Toddler: Transitional classroom programming for two- to three-year-olds to support growing independence and learning.
Preschool and Pre-K: Classroom experiences aimed at preparing children for kindergarten.
Before/After School: Before- and after-school care is provided, including transportation for local school districts.

Policies and health

Children with allergies or dietary restrictions are accommodated; the center requires written notification for dietary needs and may request a Food Allergy Information form and physician documentation. Special foods brought from home must be labeled and perishable items are refrigerated; such meals are not shared with other children.
The center maintains a pick-up authorization process: only people listed on a child’s approved pick-up list may collect the child, authorized adults must be at least 18 years old and may be asked to present photo ID, and authorization remains in force until changed in writing.
The center has a documented process for addressing challenging behaviours that includes staff documentation, meetings with parents and development of an agreed behaviour plan; use of external therapists or consultants may be part of that process and, if interventions are not successful, discharge from the program may occur following review.
