Creation Kids Academy

Overview

Creation Kids Academy is a faith-based early childhood center that accepts children from six weeks through five years. The center is owned by the Stewart family.

Curriculum and approach

The program implements a faith-based, play-focused curriculum aligned with the Illinois Early Learning and Development Standards. Curriculum areas noted include faith, language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, physical health and development, social and emotional development, and the arts.

Learning activities and development

Daily activities include reading, indoor and outdoor play, music, creative arts, sensory exploration, pretend play and academic work. The program emphasizes development of communication skills, cognitive problem-solving (language, numbers, shapes, colors, patterning, cause and effect), and fine and gross motor skills, along with social skills such as sharing, cooperation, generosity and empathy.

Family partnership and values

The center coordinates with families to set both standardized and customized goals for each child and states that its curriculum will evolve with input from the community, students and families. Stated program pillars include faith, respect, adventure, curiosity and learning.
