Dacc Child Development Center

Overview

DACC Child Development Center is an on-campus early childhood program offering classroom care for toddlers and preschool-age children. The program is organized to allow children to move freely, make choices, and receive frequent one-to-one attention.

Program and curriculum

The curriculum stresses social and language growth, learning through play, and planned activities tailored to young children's development. Classrooms provide weekly newsletters describing class activities, and formal progress reports are issued at the start of the spring semester.

Facilities and safety

Outdoor play is scheduled in all seasons when conditions are safe under Illinois state licensing guidance; an indoor large-muscle activity area is used when outdoor play is not appropriate.
Security measures include secured entrances, classroom security cameras, and a computerized key-entry system; campus security personnel are also available.
A director is on site daily to observe classrooms, mentor staff, and help maintain an age-appropriate learning environment.

Calendar and family communication

The center publishes an annual calendar of closures and family events and welcomes family visits during the day, including lunchtime and playtime.
