Overview

Die Rasselbande Preschool is a German-language immersion early childhood program that serves children from ages 2 through 5. The program is licensed (Lic. No. 376105103) and operates as a multicultural, bilingual preschool.

Approach and curriculum

The program uses a play-based, theme-centered curriculum that is flexible to follow children’s interests. German is the primary language of instruction; teachers use gestures, props, dramatization and repetition to support language learning and may use some English when necessary for safety or clarity. Language development and communication are integrated across art, movement, science and music activities.

Enrollment and family information

Enrollment is open to children ages 2–5 from all backgrounds; toilet-training is not required.
Families may choose attendance patterns of 2, 3, 4 or 5 days per week (choice of days, Monday–Friday); open enrollment begins April 1 and enrollment continues as space allows.
The school accepts military and other fee-assistance programs.
The school hosts community events and cultural celebrations including field trips, visits from the fire department, family days and German traditions such as a Lantern Walk, Nikolaus, Karneval and May Fest.
