Overview

Mountain View School serves students from preschool through eighth grade and identifies STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) as its signature focus. The school integrates STEAM concepts across content areas and uses engineering-design approaches in classroom learning.

Academics & programs

Pre-K and K–8 instruction with STEAM-integrated curriculum and project-based learning elements.
Students apply the Engineering Design Process to solve real-world problems and develop collaboration, communication and critical-thinking skills.
Electives and a published electives schedule are provided for middle-grade students.

Student life & services

After-school and enrichment options are available through district Community Education (before-and-after-school care/Den Club and break camps).
School offers clubs, activities, seasonal events (for example STEAM nights and spirit/store fundraisers), and participates in middle-level athletics and seasonal sports.
Parent involvement is supported through PTA and volunteer opportunities.
