Overview

Copper Creek Elementary School serves pre-kindergarten through sixth-grade students on a single campus in north Glendale. The school opened in 1997 and operates as part of the Deer Valley Unified School District.

Academics and programs

The school offers grade-level classrooms K–6 and district-related programs for identified students. Gifted Services include K–3 cluster classrooms and a SAGE program for upper elementary grades that provides content replacement and accelerated coursework. Reading intervention services at the school use the SIPPS curriculum for systematic instruction in phonics, fluency, and comprehension. The campus also hosts a developmental preschool program and special education services across a continuum.

Student supports and facilities

On-site library/media center with scheduled class visits, summer reading resources and student checkout procedures.
School-based health services staffed by a school nurse, including immunization guidance, medication administration policies, hearing and vision screening, and scoliosis screening where indicated.
Specialized support departments on campus such as speech-language services, school psychology, and a counseling program that provides individual and small-group work.

Meals and cafeteria

The school participates in the district K–8 breakfast and lunch program and follows the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program meal pattern requirements. The cafeteria implements district procedures for meal payments, account management, and special-diet accommodations that require documentation from a licensed physician.
