Elgin Child And Family Resource Center

Overview

Elgin Child & Family Resource Center provides early learning and family-focused services in central Elgin. The center serves children from infancy through kindergarten and supports family involvement through meetings, conferences and parent-child events.

Programs and curriculum

The center offers classroom programs for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and kindergarten-aged children. Its curriculum includes a Healthy Lifestyles component with lessons on nutrition, movement and environmental awareness, and the site participates in a Preschool for All collaboration with the local school district. Staff work with other professionals to support children with IFSPs and IEPs.

Teacher-to-child ratios: 1:4 (Infant), 1:5 (Toddler), 1:10 (Preschool), 1:15 (Kindergarten).
