Forest Bluff School

Overview

Forest Bluff School provides Montessori education across a broad age range, from parent-and-baby classes through a secondary level for early adolescents. The school presents a multi-year Montessori continuum intended to support children’s academic and personal development from infancy into early adolescence.

Approach and curriculum

The program follows Montessori principles: individualized lessons presented when a child is ready, multi-age classrooms, and hands-on Montessori materials that progress from simple to complex. The curriculum addresses academic subjects alongside social, emotional, and practical life skills.

Programs

Parent & Baby Class — Birth–12 months. Early parent/infant sessions supporting development and parent education.
Young Children's Community — 18 months–3 years. A toddler program focused on independence, practical life, and early Montessori materials.
Primary — 3–6 years. Montessori primary classroom work with materials and individualized lessons.
Elementary — 6–12 years. Elementary-level study with open-ended materials, group presentations, and opportunities for independent research.
Secondary — 12–14 years. Early-adolescent program continuing Montessori studies into grades equivalent to middle school.

Admissions and family involvement

Initial visits are scheduled as morning tours with an opportunity for adults to observe the classroom work cycle. The admissions process includes a child visit or acquaintance, followed by acceptance and deposit procedures or placement in a waiting pool when spaces are not immediately available. The school also offers continuing-education talks, parent discussions, and other resources to support families.
