Overview

Geary Elementary is a campus within Geary Public Schools that serves elementary-age students in the Geary community. It is part of a district that provides programs spanning early childhood through secondary education.

Programs and curriculum

The district operates an on-site child development program, Baby Bison Ranch, that serves children from infancy through age four and uses Oklahoma’s Early Learning Guidelines for age-appropriate curriculum. Instructional areas emphasized across early childhood programming include language and literacy experiences, creative play, math, science exploration, art, physical development, self-help skills, and social development.

Early learning uses state-aligned Early Learning Guidelines for Infants, Toddlers and Twos, and for ages Three–Five.
Daily programming focuses on hands-on discovery, problem solving, and activities that build self-confidence and social skills.
Staff participate in ongoing professional training to support child care and early education practices.

Student support and district policies

District-level services and policies that serve students at the campus include an ongoing Child Find system to identify children and youth (birth to 22) who may need special education and related services, district health and wellness information, and procedures for maintaining and protecting student education records under FERPA. The district states it does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, disability, or veteran status.
