Geneseo Child Care #2

Overview

Geneseo Child Care #2 is one of two Geneseo Child Care locations and accepts children across the early childhood and school-age range. The program is licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and states a capacity to serve children from six weeks up to 12 years of age.

Approach and curriculum

The program describes a developmentally focused approach that promotes social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth. Activities and schedules are organized to include group learning, quiet times and rest periods. The center conducts annual developmental screening and references a curriculum intended to prepare children for later learning.

Operations, meals and enrollment

Enrollment requires completed state and center forms, current immunization and health records, emergency authorizations and a registration fee.
Meals and snacks are provided following USDA guidelines and individual dietary limitations; forms for food allergies and medication administration are used.
Policies cover tuition, holidays, vacation, absences, late pick-up fees and withdrawal procedures.

Staffing and safety

Staff qualifications follow Illinois licensing rules for early childhood and school-age workers, and the center references background checks, training and staffing ratios consistent with state requirements. The license and licensing rules are available for review and the program states it is subject to DCFS inspection.
