The Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) at Carver Preschool is a Garden Grove Unified School District preschool site serving children from the district with programs focused on language, social-emotional, motor and pre-academic development to support transition to kindergarten.
The Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) at Carver serves preschool-aged students who reside within the Garden Grove Unified School District. Programs emphasize development of communication, social-emotional skills, independence, motor skills and early academic concepts to prepare children for Transitional Kindergarten and kindergarten.
Instruction is aligned with the California Preschool/Transitional Kindergarten Learning Foundations and frameworks and uses the BIG DAY Pre-K curriculum and thematic units. Observational assessments using the Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP) are collected in fall and spring to monitor progress and guide instructional goals.
A special education preschool program for children who qualify for additional educational support following a multidisciplinary assessment; students receive embedded services such as speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, adapted physical education and music instruction.
State-funded preschool classes offered in AM and PM sessions with an AM class from 8:00 AM–11:00 AM and a PM class from 11:45 AM–2:45 PM; this State PreK schedule does not have the Wednesday early-release adjustment.
