Overview

Los Pachiquines Home Daycare is a home-based, bilingual and multicultural child care program for children from birth through age five. The program emphasizes individualized routines and a nurturing environment suited to each child’s developmental stage.

Curriculum and learning approach

The curriculum is play-based and Montessori-inspired and is implemented in alignment with the Illinois Early Learning and Development Standards (IELDS) and DCFS licensing standards. Learning is individualized through observation and adjusted activities, with a predictable but flexible daily schedule that includes circle time, structured learning activities, free play, meals, outdoor play, and rest.

Services, routines and inclusion

Developmental domains addressed include social-emotional, language and communication, cognitive, and physical development, with activities such as read-alouds, music, art, sensory exploration, and motor-skill practice.
Meals and snacks are provided and described as nutritious and age-appropriate in accordance with DCFS nutritional standards; food allergies and special diets are accommodated with documentation.
Toilet training support, supervised indoor and outdoor play, rotation of age-appropriate materials, and documentation of developmental observations are part of the program.

Health, safety and family communication

Health and hygiene practices include regular handwashing, sanitary diapering, daily cleaning/disinfection of areas and materials, and adherence to Safe Sleep guidelines.
Emergency and evacuation plans, fire and tornado drills, shelter-in-place procedures, and incident reporting are implemented per DCFS requirements.
Medications are administered only with written authorization, and ongoing communication with parents or guardians is maintained about children’s well-being and development.
