Haven For Tots Day Care & Pre-School

Overview

Haven For Tots Day Care & Pre-School is a non-profit, faith-based early childhood program licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. The centre serves children from 6 weeks through approximately 6 years and identifies art projects, lessons, music and educational activities as daily components of its program. Families may opt out of religious activities if they choose.

Program and learning approach

Classroom activities focus on creative play, circle time, story time and other early learning experiences intended to support social, emotional and cognitive development. The programme lists rooms for Babies, Toddlers, Pre‑School and Pre‑Kindergarten and describes a structured, enrichment‑focused curriculum to prepare children for school.

Meals, schedule and family communication

Meals and snacks follow rotating, DCFS‑approved menus developed to meet healthy food program guidelines.
Daily routines include group time, free/creative play, circle/work time, outdoor play (weather permitting), nap and snack periods.
Parent communication is supported through classroom email accounts, a parent information board, monthly newsletters and an app used in the infant room to share daily updates.

Staff, values and policies

The programme names teaching and support staff and has an active board of directors. Stated values include care and respect, listening and guidance for self‑control, individual attention to children, and sensitivity to families’ needs. A nondiscrimination policy is posted that covers race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, age, marital status, disability, sexual orientation and gender identity.
