Keystone Academy Cs

Overview

Keystone Academy Charter School serves students in grades K–8 and operates as a public charter school open to eligible Pennsylvania residents. The school emphasizes a concentrated science and mathematics curriculum and the use of integrated technology. The campus includes recently expanded classroom space and facilities to support instruction and the arts.

Academics and Curriculum

The school focuses on strong academics in science and mathematics and cross-curricular activities that incorporate technology. Student progress is reported via six-week progress reports and trimester reports issued in December, March and June; parent/teacher conferences are scheduled for trimester report periods and may also be requested at other times. The school uses an A–F grading scale with numeric ranges provided for each letter grade.

Student Support and Programs

Special education services and procedural safeguards are provided, with downloadable program descriptions and parent guides available.
An English as a Second Language (ESL) program screens incoming students and offers one-to-one and small-group instruction, classroom push-in support, and focused language skill development.
The school participates in the federal Title I program and uses Title I funds for additional literacy and math support, supplemental resources, technology, staff development and family engagement activities.
Family resources include a Parent Resource Center on campus and published policies on family engagement, procedural safeguards, and rights under the McKinney-Vento Act for students experiencing homelessness.
Facilities updates include a 10,000 sq. ft. addition with eight classrooms, an art studio, outdoor instructional space, staff lounge and restrooms.
