Knolls Learning Studio - Infant Center, The

Overview

The centre is a licensed early childhood facility serving young children and their families. Programming is organized around play-based, child-driven learning and an emergent curriculum with an emphasis on outdoor and nature-based experiences.

Approach and curriculum

Instruction is Reggio-inspired and play-based, with a curriculum that is emergent and responsive to children’s interests. The program highlights holistic development across physical, social/emotional, cognitive and language domains and uses hands-on, experiential learning and reflective practice.

Enrichment and family involvement

Enrichment classes provided at no additional charge include music, dance, yoga and animal educational visits.
Parents are invited to participate through volunteering, Parent’s Night Out, Family Fun Day and open houses; the program supports parent involvement in classroom activities.
Enrichment instructors are identified as having undergone criminal-record background checks (fingerprinting) to meet state licensing requirements.

Facilities

The centre includes indoor classrooms and an outdoor classroom designed to support nature-based learning and hands-on exploration.
