Lighthouse Center For Infants

Overview

Lighthouse Center for Infants provides full-day care for infants and toddlers and serves children aged 16 weeks through 24 months. The program is affiliated with a local church and incorporates a Christian, Bible-centered philosophy.

Approach and staff

The center emphasizes developmentally appropriate care that supports physical, cognitive, emotional and spiritual growth. Staff meet California licensing requirements, hold or are pursuing Early Childhood Education credentials, and maintain CPR and First Aid certification.

Facilities, meals and health

The facility is a single-room setting with designated areas for age-appropriate play and a separate nap room equipped with blackout curtains, a sound machine and an air purifier; each child uses an individual crib or cot.
There is a separate changing area with labeled baskets for each child and an enclosed, shaded outdoor yard for weather-appropriate play.
The kitchen includes labeled baskets and refrigeration/freezer space for family-provided food; the center provides utensils, plates, bowls, bedding, mats, cubbies, baskets and filtered water.
Cleaning and sanitation practices include use of hydrogen peroxide wipes and routine cleaning consistent with local regulations; a registration fee funds an individualized earthquake kit for each enrolled child.
