Little Castle Childcare & Preschool

Overview

Little Castle Childcare & Preschool provides care in age-specific classrooms including infant, toddler, preschool and after-school groups. Classrooms use weekly lesson plans and maintain individual student portfolios that collect work samples, pictures, developmental checklists and teacher observations.

Learning approach

Classroom practice is organized around developmentally appropriate activities and monthly learning themes. Staff track each child’s progress in social, emotional, cognitive and physical development and plan lessons and supports based on those observations. Preschool students are supported in school-readiness activities and the program holds a Pre-K graduation at the end of the year.

Health, safety and meals

Provides five daily meals at no charge to families, prepared to meet CACFP and USDA standards.
Follows Arizona health department guidelines and employs health and safety specialists at its locations.
Uses secured entry with authorized access pins for caregivers and staff.
Each location has an industrial kitchen with a lead cook; sites employ a certified Food Protection Manager and staff with food handler certificates.

Facilities and out-of-school programming

After-school services include transportation to and from school, daily homework support and developmentally appropriate activities. The after-school program runs a summer camp and conducts frequent field trips for enrolled students.
