Overview

Little Legends Learning Center is a year-round early learning center licensed by the State of Illinois DCFS. The center serves children starting in infancy and provides care through school-age, with on-site classrooms for infants, toddlers, two-year-olds, preschoolers and a school-age room during summer months.

Approach and curriculum

The program uses The Creative Curriculum as its primary, play-based framework and incorporates Al’s Pals for social-emotional learning. Conscious Discipline is used as the center’s approach to behavior guidance. The ProCare child-care management app is used for parent communication, including photos, videos and progress updates.

Facilities, safety and staffing

Facility size and spaces: a reported 20,000-square-foot building with 15 classrooms, a large gymnasium and two outdoor playgrounds.
Security features: building-wide security cameras, Smart Access Control exterior doors and a secure child check-in system.
Staff development and ratios: staff complete continuing education annually; published staff-to-child ratios are 1:4 for infants, 1:5 for toddlers, 1:8 for twos, 1:10 for preschool and 1:20 for school-age groups (with stated group size limits).

Meals, schedule and enrichment

Daily food service includes AM snack, lunch and PM snack; infants are provided formula while parents may supply breast milk. The center operates year-round and notes closures for major holidays. Extra-curricular offerings and on-site partnerships include gymnastics, dance, piano lessons and soccer, and a school-age summer camp is offered during summer months.
