Overview

LS&S Preschool is a nonprofit (501(c)(3)) preschool serving children aged two through five. The program follows a traditional nine-month school calendar from September to mid-May and operates on weekday school hours during that period.

Curriculum and approach

The program uses a developmentally appropriate, theme-based curriculum that addresses intellectual, social, emotional and physical development. Instructional content includes language and literacy development, social skills and creative expression, and is supplemented by language lessons, religious instruction, and STEAM-focused activities.

Staff, safety and policies

All teachers are described as experienced and receive continuing education; staff members are certified in CPR and first aid.
The center is licensed by Texas Health and Human Services and maintains written policies including an emergency preparedness plan and health procedures.
Attendance and pick-up are documented through an app-based system; visitor sign-in and identification procedures are required for campus access.

Facilities and family communication

The campus includes an enclosed playground and organizes regular special events. Families receive monthly calendars and weekly classroom lesson plans, and the center uses electronic messaging for routine communication and emergency notices.

INTEGRATED STEAM PROGRAM

The goals of our STEAM program are to foster a love of Science, and to build an understanding of Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Through play, singing, dancing, experiments, and creative activities, children are encouraged to explore and discover on their own. Additionally, they learn valuable skills like sharing, cooperation, and teamwork in a dynamic and engaging classroom environment.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

At LS&S Preschool, our religious education program is led by Ms. Monique. She brings Bible lessons to life with engaging activities tailored to the abilities of each child, ensuring a meaningful and age-appropriate learning experience.

SPANISH PROGRAM

¡Buenos Días! Ms. Fabiola introduces Spanish to the children through engaging and fun activities. She conducts 15-20 minute sessions tailored to the age of each class, making language learning an enjoyable experience.

TRANSITIONAL KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM

Our Transitional Kindergarten Program is designed for older 4-year-olds and 5-year-olds who aren't quite ready for kindergarten. This five-day-a-week program offers a faster-paced curriculum, providing an excellent introduction to the school environment and preparing children for future academic success.
