Los Medanos College Child Study Center is a college-operated childcare and teaching laboratory on the Pittsburg campus that provides care for children from birth through five years. It serves LMC students, faculty and staff and accepts community families when space is available.
The Child Study Center operates as an Early Childhood Education teaching laboratory and as a childcare center for the college community. The center provides care for children from birth through age five and also admits community families as space allows.
The center is integrated with the Early Childhood Education program and functions as a hands-on learning site for students. Parents who enroll a child are required to take a parent education seminar (CHDEV 22) that includes weekly seminar time and a parent-volunteer requirement; college units are awarded to those who complete the course.
