Mercy Cares For Kids, Inc.

Overview

Mercy Cares For Kids is an early childhood program affiliated with St. Peter's Health Partners for children six weeks to five years. The program is licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

Care approach and staff

Teaching teams are arranged to provide sufficient adult-to-child coverage and to offer age-appropriate activities and materials. Staff engage in ongoing professional development and build partnerships with families to support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs. The program participates in New York State’s QUALITYstarsNY initiative.

Meals and environment

Nutritious meals and snacks are provided and served using silverware and non-disposable plates; mealtimes are used as a group opportunity for relaxation and social interaction. The program describes its environment as safe and healthy for adults and children.

Enrollment and paperwork

Priority for enrollment is given to employees of St. Peter's Health Partners; community enrollments are accepted as space allows. The program provides standard childcare forms such as registration, medical, and medication consent documents.
