Meridian Early Education Center

Overview

Meridian Early Education Center is an early childhood program serving children approximately 2–5 years old. The center uses the Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP-2015) assessment to help staff develop individualized learning plans for children.

Curriculum and learning

The program incorporates several structured curricula and evidence-based approaches to support early literacy and social-emotional development. Materials and classroom practices include phonemic awareness lessons, explicit social-emotional skill instruction, and thematic, study-based units designed to build knowledge across literacy, math, science and the arts.

Facilities and outdoor learning

The site maintains dedicated indoor classrooms and an extensive outdoor classroom with multiple learning areas. Outdoor spaces described include a house area, manipulative area, water play area, library area, science area, puzzle and building areas, garden area, bike area, sandbox, music and sports areas, and art and messy play areas.

Enrollment and eligibility

Enrollment is managed through an eligibility list and families are ranked according to state subsidized child care criteria, with priority given to children receiving protective services and then by family income.
Stated eligibility requirements include the child’s age (site references children in the 2–4½ to 2–5 year range), that the child be fully potty trained, qualifying family income, and that parents be working, attending school, or seeking employment.
