Overview

The MetroWest YMCA Early Learning Center in Framingham delivers early education and care for young children in preschool and pre-kindergarten, using play-based activities to support exploration, socialization, and developmental growth.

Curriculum & learning

The program uses a developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with Massachusetts early childhood standards and learning frameworks, with goals and objectives for children and educators. Daily activities include gross motor and language experiences, sensory play, creative expression, hands-on exploration, and support for self-help skills.

Staff, training & family support

Lead teachers hold bachelor’s or master’s degrees and staff receive ongoing professional development.
All staff are First Aid and CPR certified; educators are described as multilingual and trained in cultural sensitivity.
Family supports include opportunities for participation, resource referrals, transition-to-kindergarten assistance, and connections to other YMCA offerings.

Meals & health

Breakfast and afternoon snacks are provided as part of the program, and health, medication, and individual health care plan procedures are documented and available to families.
