Overview

Montessori School of Mountain House provides Montessori-style early childhood education and care on a campus at Questa Elementary. The school serves young children from toddler age through kindergarten and operates five days per week.

Educational approach and curriculum

The program follows Montessori philosophy with prepared environments, mixed-age classrooms, and hands-on Montessori materials. Curriculum components listed include practical life, sensorial activities, language and literacy, mathematics, and cultural studies such as botany, zoology, history, and geography.

Teachers hold state-required early childhood units, CPR/First Aid and mandated reporter training; many hold higher education degrees and Montessori credentials or are in training.
Health and safety measures include a touchless attendance system, motion-detecting hand sanitizers, daily sanitizing, an enclosed campus with external security cameras and access-code entry, and an emergency disaster plan.
Families participate through a Parent Association and a required annual family work commitment; the school uses a parent portal (Brightwheel) for enrollment, attendance, records and payments.
