Overview

The Fresno location provides early care and preschool services for young children in North Fresno. The program serves children beginning in early infancy and continuing through the preschool years, and the site reports it does not currently provide transportation.

Curriculum and assessment

Classroom practices emphasize teacher–child interactions and developmentally appropriate environments, including use of the CLASS interaction framework, the Teaching Pyramid (positive behavior supports), and the ECERS/ITERS environment rating scales. Teachers prepare weekly lesson plans that include hands-on activities such as cooking and outdoor lessons. The program uses standardized screening and assessment tools: Ages & Stages Questionnaires (ASQ) are distributed after enrollment and annually, and Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP) assessments are completed twice per year with parent/teacher conferences held in fall and spring.

Facilities, meals and family supports

The center offers outdoor play spaces and describes optional outdoor-classroom activities when weather permits. Meals and snacks are provided in accordance with CACFP guidelines. Additional family supports include potty-training assistance and language enrichment opportunities in sign language and Spanish.

Staff and qualifications

Teaching staff include bilingual team members and personnel holding Child Development permits, site-supervisor permits, and college-level credentials; some staff hold bachelor’s or master’s degrees. Parent communication tools and regular assessment feedback are part of the center’s family engagement practices.
