Needham Extended Day Program — Broadmeadow is an out-of-school-time site serving Needham Public Schools students in kindergarten through fifth grade at Broadmeadow Elementary School, offering before- and after-school care and full-day coverage on certain days.
Needham Extended Day Program — Broadmeadow operates at Broadmeadow Elementary School and provides out-of-school-time care for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Program activities are run in school spaces adapted for the purpose, with separate quiet areas for homework and larger spaces used for active play.
The program uses a theme-based curriculum with an emphasis on academic enrichment across subjects such as science, technology, engineering, arts, math and literature. Staff receive training in the Responsive Classroom method to support social and behavioral learning.
After-school care runs from the end of the school day until 6:00 PM and is hosted in school spaces adapted for program activities; quiet areas are used for homework while gym/field space is used for structured games and outdoor play.
Before School programs are offered at Broadmeadow; children may arrive any time after 7:15 AM and a parent or guardian must accompany and sign children into the program. Staff walk children to their designated location 10 to 15 minutes before the start of school.
Full-day coverage is available from 7:15 AM to 6:00 PM on designated full days unless notified otherwise.
The program partners with the Summer Bridge offering extended day care until 4:00 PM during the Summer Bridge weeks; enrollment is offered on a weekly basis and the site accepts childcare vouchers and provides information about financial assistance on request.
