Overview

Newport Coast Child Development Preschool is an early childhood education center on a campus in Newport Beach serving multiple age groups from toddler through pre-kindergarten. The campus includes seven classrooms and several outdoor play areas designed to support daily outdoor play and gross motor development.

Curriculum & approach

The program combines free play and teacher-led whole-group lessons with differentiated learning centers for small-group instruction in literacy, mathematics, fine motor skills, art, sensory and technology. Social-emotional learning is integrated throughout the day.

Programs

Enrichment Classes

A range of before- or after-school enrichment classes for preschoolers to extend the day or explore additional hobbies and skills; participants need to meet age and potty-trained requirements and do not have to be enrolled in the regular preschool.

Parent / Toddler

Once-a-week mini preschool sessions for a parent and child that include free play, learning centers, story or music & movement, snack and outside play; sessions run seasonally (Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring).

Summer Session: mid-June to mid-August, classes Tue or Thu 2:00–3:30pm. Fall/Winter/Spring Sessions: 10 weeks, Tue or Thu 2:30–4:00pm.

Room 1

Half-Day Enrichment Preschool for the youngest students focused on building independence, confidence and early social skills with a high student-to-teacher ratio and hands-on activities.

Days: 2 days Tue/Thu; 3 days Mon/Wed/Fri; or 5 days Mon–Fri. Times: AM 9:00am–12:00noon or PM 1:00–4:00pm.

Room 2

Half-Day Enrichment Preschool for 3- and 4-year-olds offering a more formal classroom routine and low teacher-to-student ratios.

Days: 2 days Tue/Thu; 3 days Mon/Wed/Fri; or 5 days Mon–Fri. Times: AM 9:00am–12:00noon (Room 2) or PM 1:00–4:00pm (Room 2).
