Nipomo Recreation - Little Bits Preschool

Overview

LittleBits Preschool is a licensed center-based child care and early education facility in Nipomo that serves children from birth through six years. The program offers full- and part-time enrollment and operates year-round with only limited holiday or seasonal closures.

Curriculum and approach

The center uses an age-appropriate, play-based approach that is described as culturally diverse, teacher- and student-guided, and literacy-enriched. Daily routines include group time, music and movement, arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor exploration, and activities intended to support social, physical, emotional, cognitive and language development. The program notes use of incorporated technology and all-natural APA-approved cleaning products.

Staff, safety and family involvement

Lead teachers are reported to have completed or be working toward degrees in Early Childhood Studies; staff are required to hold CPR and first aid certification.
An open-door policy encourages parental observation and participation; families are invited to join events, fundraisers, and community activities such as the local Christmas parade.
Regular special events and field trips are organized, including at least two field trips per year and holiday celebrations.
