(Pact) For West Central Illinois

Overview

PACT for West Central Illinois operates Head Start and Early Head Start programs that provide early childhood education, health, nutrition and family support services across multiple counties in west central Illinois. Services are offered through both center-based and home-based program models for children from birth through preschool age.

Programs and services

Program offerings include:

Early childhood education aligned with the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework (ELOF).
Health screenings and follow-up services.
Nutrition services with USDA-approved meals and snacks.
Mental health and disability services and connections to community social services.
Transportation assistance where available.

Home-based and family support

Home-based services use the Parents As Teachers (PAT) curriculum and include weekly home visits plus regular group socializations; teachers work with families to support child development and connect them to community resources. Family engagement opportunities include parent meetings, volunteer roles, workshops and participation in a Policy Council for parent input into program decisions.
