Overview

Pleasant Run Learning Center North provides classroom-based care and early education for infants through pre-kindergarten. The centre is organised into age-specific rooms: infants & toddlers, a two-year-old room, a three-year-old room and a four- and five-year-old pre‑K room.

Curriculum and daily activities

Classroom routines include circle time and structured learning activities. Program content varies by room and age but includes:

Cognitive and language goals such as book exposure, letter recognition and letter sounds, number concepts, and use of baby sign language for younger children.
Social and emotional objectives including turn-taking, sharing, identifying and labeling emotions, and building relationships with caregivers.
Physical and self-help development such as tummy time and gross/fine motor activities for infants, encouragement of self-feeding and hand-washing, potty training expectations in the two-year-old room, and independent dressing skills for older children.
Pre-K routines focused on kindergarten readiness: writing concepts, sight words, scissors use, daily worksheets, calendar and job-chart activities.
