Overview

Peoria Elementary School is a public preK–8 campus within the Peoria Unified School District. The school serves students from preschool through eighth grade and presents a combination of classroom instruction, arts education and extracurricular activities.

Academics and programs

Special Education — Special education services are provided in individualized programs determined by each student’s IEP team.
Athletics — Extracurricular athletic opportunities are offered to students in grades K–8 across a variety of sports during the school year.
Arts Education — All students participate in visual arts, performing arts and general music as part of the school’s arts offerings.
Preschool — Certified preschool teachers deliver classroom experiences aimed at fostering creativity, curiosity and school readiness.
Kindergarten — Kindergarten classrooms focus on early learning in a nurturing environment led by qualified teachers.
Technology, Life, Careers (TLC) — Career exploration begins in junior high through TLC classes for seventh- and eighth-grade students.

Safety and family supports

Safety measures include a School Liaison Officer, an Emergency Operations Plan and controlled entry points. The school partners with the City of Peoria to offer before- and after-school care, and uses ParentSquare and ParentVUE to communicate with families and share student information.
