Overview

Adelante Selby serves Transitional Kindergarten through 5th grade and includes an on-site preschool. It is a public school within the Redwood City School District that uses a two-way Spanish immersion model.

Approach & Curriculum

The school follows a 90-10 two-way immersion model that begins with primarily Spanish instruction and shifts over time to build bilingualism and biliteracy. Core academic subjects include language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies, and the program incorporates arts and performance learning such as dance, vocal music, drama, and Art in Action.

Facilities & Learning Spaces

Tree-filled campus with 41 classrooms, a two-story classroom building with a science lab, a library/media center, a computer lab, and a multipurpose building.
Outdoor learning spaces including two playgrounds, play structures, an athletic/ball field, and a school garden used as an outdoor classroom linked to curriculum.

Family & Community Supports

The school maintains a family center, counseling and wellness supports, and partnerships with community organizations and universities for after-school enrichment, reading support, and STEAM collaboration.
