Redwood Children'S Center

Overview

Redwood Children’s Center is a licensed early childhood center that serves children ages 2 to 6 and is permitted for up to 46 students. The program emphasizes a play-based approach to early learning and has been operating since 1999.

Curriculum and approach

The program uses a play-based curriculum with monthly themes and hands-on activities aimed at promoting problem-solving, creativity, and social-emotional development. Social and emotional growth is highlighted as a core part of the learning experience.

Health, safety and facilities

Classrooms and play areas are maintained with daily equipment inspections and regular disinfection of toys.
Staff are trained in first aid, CPR, and emergency procedures.
Children are evaluated for wellness on arrival, and immunization records must be kept current. A child with a fever must remain home for at least 24 hours after fever reduction without medication.
Photo identification is required for any individual other than a parent to pick up a child. The center reserves the right to close for holidays, emergencies, repairs, or other unexpected circumstances.

Meals and enrollment

The center provides two daily snacks and milk or juice with snacks; families provide a packed lunch and milk is served at lunch. If a child’s lunch requires warming, parents are asked to send microwave-safe containers. When enrolling, families receive a packet of state- and school-required forms.
