Rosebud Preschool

Overview

Rosebud Preschool is an outreach program of the Presbyterian Church of the Roses that provides a play-based early childhood program in a multi-age classroom for children from roughly two years until they enter kindergarten. Planned experiences emphasize social, emotional, intellectual, physical and spiritual growth through both indoor and outdoor activities.

Approach and curriculum

Instruction is play-based and designed to support developmental milestones and kindergarten readiness. The program uses screening and assessment tools (including the Ages & Stages Questionnaire) to inform learning activities and to guide Pre-K assessment and portfolio development.

Facilities, health and safety

The facility is arranged to support transitions between indoor and outdoor play, with child‑sized bathrooms and an open, airy classroom.
Health and safety procedures include required immunizations, daily sign‑in/out, an emergency plan with designated alternate sites, and detailed illness and exclusion policies.
Written policies address medication administration, cleaning and sanitizing, COVID‑19 procedures (screening, isolation area, cleaning protocols, and face covering guidance) and a sick policy with requirements for symptom‑free periods before return.

Family involvement and operations

Families receive regular communication via newsletters and bulletin boards, are invited to participate in events and may volunteer. The program issues an annual calendar of holidays and closures and maintains enrollment, registration and payment policies including a registration fee, tuition billing practices and withdrawal notice requirements.
