Smile-A-While Preschool

Overview

Smile-A-While Preschool operates from two classrooms inside Trinity United Methodist Church in Milan and serves potty-trained children between 3 and 5 years of age. The program follows a typical school-year calendar with an optional limited summer program for current and incoming students.

Approach and learning

Daily activities are aimed at preparing children for kindergarten and include reading, writing, early math concepts, science, art, fine motor practice and social skills. The Creative Curriculum is used as the instructional framework.

Programs and schedule

Half-day and full-day options are available with 2-, 3- and 5-day schedules.
Half-day classes run 8:45 am - 11:45 am; full-day program runs from as early as 7:30 am to as late as 5:00 pm.
Full-day students receive lunch and an afternoon snack. The school year normally runs mid-August through mid-May.
Enrollment typically begins in January for the upcoming August start. Regular special events include a Christmas program, graduation, seasonal parties and a Trike-A-Thon fundraiser; typical field trips include a walk to the fire station and one off-site trip requiring parent transportation.
