Stepping Stones Academy

Overview

Stepping Stones Academy is a K–8 public charter school that serves students on a small, family-oriented campus. The school provides full-day kindergarten and early childhood education as part of its K–8 offerings and makes before- and after-school child care available for families.

Approach and curriculum

The school follows a sequential, standards-aligned academic program built around Arizona standards and the Common Core. Instruction emphasizes a back-to-basics approach and a whole-child philosophy that addresses intellectual, social, behavioral and emotional development. K–8 students receive letter grades in academic subjects and the school enforces a uniform policy and a code of conduct.

What the school provides families

On-campus extracurricular and after-school activities, including sports, theater and arts clubs.
A student-operated micro-society called Mustang Village that offers hands-on experiences in civic and business roles.
Meal and snack arrangements: families may provide packed lunches or purchase school-catered lunch; students are asked to bring two healthy snacks and may bring a labeled, leak-proof water bottle.
Staff and administrative information is maintained in a public staff directory; resumes and employee fingerprint clearance cards are available in the school office.
