Overview

StoryTree Children’s Center is an early childhood program established in 1995 in Taunton, Massachusetts. The center provides year‑round full‑day care for children from infancy through kindergarten in four developmentally appropriate classrooms.

Approach and curriculum

The program follows the Creative Curriculum Developmental Continuum and uses Teaching Strategies GOLD as an observation‑based assessment tool. Learning is described as play‑based with classroom activities such as art, music, literature, dramatic play and science to support social/emotional, physical, cognitive and language development. The program provides at least 60 minutes of outdoor physical activity daily, weather permitting.

Family information, assessment and safety

The center is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care and is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
Enrollment includes a tour and collection of developmental history; progress reports are prepared periodically (every 3 months for infants and children with identified special needs, at least every 6 months for toddlers and preschoolers).
The center maintains written referral procedures for additional services, conducts regular evacuation and emergency drills, and documents emergency and health policies in its parent handbook.
