Stoughton Extended Day — Dawe School is an after-school site operated by Stoughton Extended Day that provides before- and after-school care on days public school is in session and is one of the organization’s two main after-school sites in town.
Stoughton Extended Day’s Dawe School site operates as an after-school location within the town’s extended-day program for school-age children. Services run on days the public schools are in session and follow the public school calendar for closures (holidays, snow days, vacation weeks).
Staff are trained and certified as required by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care, including CPR and first aid. Background checks (CORI, SORI, BRC) are conducted. The program reports child-to-staff ratios of 13:1 or better for its before- and after-school services.
The site is part of a network that provides supervised transportation from schools to program sites and on-site activities during program hours. Programming includes organized games, art projects, outdoor play and other daily activities commonly scheduled by the organization; seasonal full-day vacation programs and a summer camp are operated by the organization at its designated camp site.
After School Programs are open from school dismissal for grades K-8 until 6:00 p.m. every day school is in session; upon dismissal SED staff meet children and transport them to the appropriate site (the Dawe site is one of the two main after-school sites).
The Before School Program opens at 7:00 a.m. every day school is in session.
